sooooooooooooo, new starter fitted in an hour, yay me and Kriss for a job well done. Go to start the car and the starter whirrs round not catching anything. WTF has gone wrong now, is it a major job (garage time?)

seems the solenoid is not engaging as the only sound being made is the starter going round, any ideas? ANYONE?

Sound like the starters the wrong one mate.

Sounds like its not close enough to the flywheel.:(

its all good just been out for a run. was really really stupid.

In order to get the starter into position I had to remove the solenoid and I just hadn't put it back together properly.

Stoopid i know but this is the first thing I have actually attempted myself, with help of course.

Am well chuffed with myself, doing the job AND working out what had gone wrong.
