A comon question seems to be HOW MANY blah blah etc etc so following on from a previous thread ( http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136746 ) I wanted to start a count of how many gsi,s and what colours.
Please only vote if you own the car and it is a genuine gsi there is a vote for replica's aswell, the car doesn't need to be on the road but in such a state that it could be ( ie not ones that are getting scrapped )
let's try to be honest and get an accurate count. Engine size doesn't matter,
SR GTE SRI SPORT owners feel free to copy this idea.

as per your colour, vote on the colour that it is registered as in the log book,
I have also noticed I didn't put up an option for grey so if any grey owner vote other and just put a little post in saying your is grey :)

only really wondering how many gsi's are on png mate, if there is another tv feature on how many cars are left then we would have a fair idea how many are owned by us lot ( I need a life lol )
lol mines a full gsi reshelled into a 1.0 , so replica for me haha
I'm surpprised at how few there are so far, and I'm the only silver one lol

I've broke then scrapped 2 gsi, one red and one silk violet. May be getting another silk violet gsi in the coming weeks :) il vote if I get her :)
My original red one now voted and accounted for.

My silky one added! Also have a white replica, but i don't think it counts as all the bits and the car itself are scattered across a few sheds, and hasn't been on the road in 6 years!
My diamond black one has been added.
I think silver is the rarest colour.
So far lee it neck and neck with silver and grey, only 1 of each lol
Most people would have you believe silk violet to be the rarest but i've always though silver.
I'd say there can't be many black ones either I know of yours and a member in Ireland has one but that's all I've seen on here, did the gsi ever come in blue?
Andy Bishop has a black LET one on here as well.
Only came in black, white, red, grey, silver and silk violet as far as I know.
I painted my black one red because I thought it was a rarer colour, how wrong was I!!!
I've had a couple of red Gsi's, seemed the most common colour over here.

My uncle had a white GSi - A boy in my college class has a red GSi and there used to be a red GSi sat down the road from me when I was younger...

Well i voted for my mate, as he dont use the main parts of the forum much, and i used to have my silky as well, so i put his on there, as for rare colors, i think mistral gray is one of the most un-common ones, and i once saw a very dark green,almost black one round here, i ask the guy what it used to be (assuming it was 1.0L resprayed, said it was a GSI and he'd has it almost form new as was second owner.. never seen one same color since though.
Oh dont forget Will Foys silver GSi.

she does look good :) im not going to change my silver one away from 1600, the gearbox isnt its own but the rest of it is. i cant claim it will be original because of it needing so much welding but still want it to look largley standard, it seems from the poll that there are still a good few silkies left on here,

i think grey must be the rarest now, followed by silver :(

Sorry to revive an oldish thread, it's been 9 years since i sold my Mistral Grey GSi and have missed it ever since. I use to be a gold club member back in the day, but things seem to have changed somewhat.
I have added my old GSi to the list regardless but thought you might like to know that there were:
2 X Slik Violet
3 X white
2 X Red
2 X Black
2 X Silver
1 X Grey (mine)
Bearing in mind Jersey is a small place, there were quite popular here.
My black one moved over from Jersey with me in 2001 but has changed a lot since then.
Was J6418 before I owned it and J96133 when I bought it iirc as the guy wanted to keep the reg.

Seriously? You have a good memory. All I did was lower it and fit a Laguna splitter when it was in Jersey as wasn't as easy to get parts to modify there.
It all spiralled out of control when it got over here.

I remember it on the 4 digit plate, i'd had Nova's since '95 and got my last of the line '93 GSi in '98. I never did any cosmetic work on mine, just subtle performance mods, 108BPH according to Regale Autosport, just goes to show that exhaust and filter etc will NOT give major gains.
God i miss that car!!!

I've had a Silver GSi for years now, my first car been tring to get it fixed and back on the road just not got round to it.

A fellow Channel Islander.
Yup, it is now owned by an old friend of mine who happens to be an enthusiast too, currently it is a rolling shell waiting to be rebuilt... Luckily it looks like i'll have the chance to buy her back.
Just not sure how to tell the wife....

by any chance do you remember a red gsi with a loud exhaust from guernsey come over around 8 years ago had a dodgey diy paint job to the rear quarter it would of been by that burger place along the front where the two lanes go in to one also think the rear lights were tinted was standard apart from that an a diy bonnet respray lol

not a chance lol lol its safely tucked away in the garage until i can get a chance to give it a clean and use it in the summer, but check your other hi all thread there is one for sale on piston heads mate i put a link up for you

It's for work, Cable & Wireless.
I didn't see that one, but i'd doubt the milage as those clocks are from an SRi...that said, the drivers seat is in mint condition so it could be correct.

Yeh noticed the clock change but you never know what its going to be like unless ya hassel them for pic's, just ask for a load in all the right area's where they go take it from there, could be genuine an solid although its unlikly. Tho price is fairly high would indicate it maybe good?
I think i'll stick with getting my old one back, it'll be £4k when ready but that will have been from the bare shell up with a choice of 1.6 8v or 2.0 16v engine.
I just hope it'll still have the GSi 3 spokes.
I'll have to keep an eye out for you and your car, i'm normally in Guernsey each month at our Upland Road or Centenary House offices... i'm sure i saw a Nova just like your Merit in Upland Road actually the last time i was there.

depends when because my blue one has been in my garage for the last 18 months and have not touched it yet got a fabia vrs as my run around, the gsi i put in the garage end of last summer will be coming out in the summer again after i have sold the astra gte lol got to many cars, oh and my mrs just bough a white gsi its imaculate pic's in the next 4 weeks :)
how long till your mate has finished it then any chance of pic's?
have to let me know when your next over mate.
Looks like it'll be a while for the GSi to be finished, it's still a rolling shell at the mo, but i'll see what i can do with regards to the pics.
I'm over on Thursday but only for the day so things will be a bit of a rush.
3 Nova's...2 of which are GSi's, thats so unfair.

Yeh would be a masive rush as i dont get home from work till 6, but when your expecting to have a bit of free time let me know an can meet up, i came over to see the jersey rally last year and hoping to enter this year an i havent even started the car thats 5 nova's in total lol one a spare shell and second is the rally car awaiting to be built.
Quite the collection then.

yup they are very rare to see on guernsey now, i dont actually know of any more gsi's on the island and even nova's in general are rare over here there are a couple but thats it, how about over there? what pic's of the furby?
There are about 4 maybe 5 GSi's left here, there use to be at least 10 of which 2 were silk violet. Mine was a last of the line 93 model with the multec dizzyless injection.
Is the blue one in your pic your daily drive? I use to have one of them before the GSi.

Na that is stored in my garage my daily drive is a fabia Vrs lol bit more luxury, the blue nova is in my garage i would post up pic's but its a mk1 and im sure it would upset people as this thead is for gsi's however there are a couple in the mk1 pic's thread
