Is there an alternative to the modifaction to the chassis leg mod when putting in a xe? Is it possable to change the altenator bracket to give clearence? Or is it hammer time lol

Front-mounted alternator just below the engine mount, don't think you need any chassis mods for that.

the alternative is to mount the alternator on the front of the engine were the power stearing pump would be but you will hae to make new brackets the pink one that was in total vauxhall years ago think it was martin hills not sure tho was done like that must be a headache tho as its the only one ive seen like it

Nippon Denso Micra alternator is a popular one as its rather small.
Karl rowntree also had a fr mounted Alt on his XE.

You could tell the children at McDonalds carpark that its a supercharger!
