Im new to the png ive had a few novas, got addicted to looking on png all night so was looking for help and ideas where ever posible

I found the car on PNG for sale and had to go buy it that night

Got the car off shaun4321 its a 1.2i (single point) lowerd on coilovers 100mm, vectra v6 brakes, gsi skirts.

The car was striped out completly other than front seats, carpet and dash, i was unsure about this and maneged to pick up an old sr (i think) burbury style interior on ebay for £21 localy, it come with all door cards, parcel shelf etc. Then before i had the chance to fit it and after driving it around the striped out interior grew on me, i then maneged to get some half white/half black dials (thanks kent14sr), so that was the interior sorted (already had gsi black dash) Then decided to fit a decent alarm cant belive it didnt have one  Then i decided i want a sound system, so i used some old bmw speaker pods and mounted 6x9s under the seats facing out front ways, ran the wire under the carpet and left slack so seats move on runners perfect still.

Apart from this all ive done is a back box (thanks to Steve)

Now next thing to decide on as working now is what to spend a couple of hundred on this month, small budget i know but cant afford much more at the moment.

Im looking at plastic windows, what do people think on these for every day use??

And the big one is the engine, want to keep to a small block tho, something easy, is gte/gsi the best for me??

And what the best under car treatment (on a budget i would love to spin it over strip it down and paint it) but i cant :( is underseal any good??

Only Full lock hitting round abouts to sharply, the rear aches arnt evan rolled, there completly standerd and it misses the wheel by about 3mm. The main problem is the exhust, i have maneged to nock it quite badly, it sits about 2 inches back from where it should, was thinking of getting rid of cat and centre box to solve the problem, then have a strait pipe with nothing to cacth, just hopes its not to loud

Water pump all sorted and cam belt changed, turns out the engines been changed at some point to an old carb one, thats why belt was wrong, i noticed the fuel pump hole on the cam shaft when i got the car its been blocked up with a plastic gromment. Which used to pop off and shoot oil out till i bolted a bracket on. Its just running on the original single point inlet still. Next inline bolt cage in and get some pics up by the weekend

Looking great dude, simples yet smart. They wheels really do look good on it. They're Vectra wheels aren't they? Looked poo on the Vectras but great on the Nova. If I were to fit them though, I'd prob remove the centre caps/covers.

i done most of the work on that car, lowered it, fitted the breakes, gsi servo, new rear wheel cylinders, new rear shoes, fited the side skirts and painted the bumpers and skirts. it has got 100mm rear springs with spax rsx rear shocks and gmax front coilovers at there lowest lol

if you need the welding done behind the skirts and you looking for someone to do it let me no as i was going to do it at one point anyway and your not that far away.

Steve-johnson2010
15-07-10, 03:48 PM
Cheers, I've just acquired this little beauty, thanks for spending all that time on it mate, it really shows you cared for it.....

I'll have a look behind the skirts at the weekend and let you know, will most probably do it myself mate anyway, depends how far you are away though.
I'm in Cambridge

I'll upload some more pictures once I've given it a good once over with the polish, I'm planning on dropping a 1.8 or a 2.0 8v engine in very soon, just gotta find the right one.....
Any idea why the HID headlights are clicking when on main beam, goes away on full beam?
Cheers

bainyboy sr
03-08-10, 05:11 PM
thats just what the hid kits do mate ive put them in a few cars and they always do that

Steve-johnson2010
04-08-10, 08:31 AM
Do they?
Mine click constantly when the lights are on, is that right?
When I hit full beam the clicking stops.
I'm thinking of selling the Nova now.......
