Stand in front of the engine, on the front right hand side of the block there should be a bit that sticks out near the exhaust manifold that is about 10 cm long it should be on there.

Problem........... the code has corroded away lol and cant read it!
Dont even know what specific car it was out of so its not as ive i can get hold of the v5 and get it off that.
Any suggestions on what to do??
I was going to nip to the scappy and copy the engine code from another scrapped 1.6 8v?

funny thing is my c14se origin unknown had no number in the normal place, it was actually on the edge that meets the gear box. has anyone else had an engine like this?
