Just the bumper? Why would you go through the insurance for that? Or do Evo bumpers cost a fortune?

mowgli
26-04-10, 10:12 PM
well, knowing what factory parts cost, i'd say write off

Rexy
26-04-10, 10:13 PM

 if it was a Nova you'd be looking at about £50 tops for a new bumper and spray it yourself lol

insurance repair places need to use gen parts tho.

Rexy
26-04-10, 10:20 PM
lol yeah.

Heres a little more for you:

Rear lamp panel has been pushed back, boot lid has now been pushed up, boot floor has been creased/split, rear lower quarter has a 9" gap between boot floor/quarter. Lower lamp panel has been pushed back, exhaust has been pushed back causing damage to that, rear bumper is KO, lower splitter is KO snapped all mounting brackets etc. Damage to rear quarter and damage to light.

Tbh I can see that being repaired. When I worked at a local car wash a mate of mine reversed a Hyundai accent off the m.o.t underbody ramps and didn't see the lovely evo parked right at the bottom of them. We were all sure it was a write off but our insurance company fixed it! The whole front was mangled and needless to say my friend got the boot lol

Only dodgy thing for the insurance is the dodgy paint they might not like trying to match that.

£6500 mr jack dude.
Ahh, sorry, thought it was an older one :tard:

I still call repair, especially if you say to them you can do the painting.

My old hatchback got battered in the **** once by some kid in his mum's 106 - new rear bumper (abyss!), rear panel, exhaust and the boot floor had to be pulled out. On a 1.2 Nova... there's me thinking write off, book price is £500 (2002 iirc). The other insurance company put up £750 to repair it!

yeah nice one :thumb:

So have I, but thats no the point... Its my car that was parked up and was pretty good condition with no damage to the rear whatso ever. Now its going to have a pulled boot floor, a pulled rear quarter I dont want my own personal car to be like this, so its me that now has a damage repaired car because of a nobber that wasnt paying attention.

I could of written the car off matey without any real issues if I wanted to be naughty about it. But, it would put a questionable damage query as the damage would of been far from what would of been expected for a low impact.

No point risking it tbh, i just want a nice quick payout, get the car sold on and whala im happy.
