yeah mate i did as you said and run an ign live to the pump and it fired up 1st time!!

Have to agree, more speed and the car might have folded up, can already see the roof bending in and the door frames must of changed shape too.

she gave me her details and when she got out she said im sorry im sorry but dont know 100%, the bay was seam welded so was stronger?? the roof kinked and the doors wont shut but we both got out of them?
The bay does look like it has just spread the force down the car, the seam welding (and not stitched) prob didnt help with your injurys and the damage on the rest of the car but meh, its over now.
How the hell did the clio get that far down there though?!
Shame ya crashed mate, all that time and hard graft building the car is lost but you'll still have loads to salvage from it. When I crashed mine about the only thing worth salvaging was the engine and some other small bits :(

oh and its designed to fold/crumple, remember crash tests are done a t 30 mph into a stationary object, not 2 moving ones at 40+.
the roof will kink as thats where thestresses get fed into the b pillars of the shell. its all physics.

i have a spare xe conversion mount mate £10 extra.:thumb: there was a lad on mig iirc selling a rebuilt std let turbo for £250 with recipts. or you could upgrade...

also there is a bend so may not of seen the speeding car approaching and if the car was doing the speed limit as said would possibly of had time.
I can see this one going against the Nova owner, or a 50/50 at best.
Even if you were doing 30mph, impartial witnesses would say you were going faster because it no doubt sounded as though you were.
Looks nasty, at least all got out OK though.

If nobby was doing a indicated 40mph then it was most likly 35. The clio driver (presuming not a 17 year old just passed test etc) should know what 30mph looks like and maybe realised the fact they didnt have enough time to pull out.
TBH tho, most clio drivers are crap and crash.

Just thought of something looking at the pics again, the car is pointing the way it came sort of, not coming around the bend, Lamp posts are on the left of the pics, hence the passenger side lamp post damage, and the fact theres no junction in the pic. Plus the face the SLOW on the road is as your coming into it, so i wouldnt mind betting the speed limit was 40, going into a 30.
Nobby to confirm ofc, but that does make sence.

Might be a bit of a trek but theres my shell here, since you have your old one for parts it'd be ideal for me as I only want rid of the bare shell really, wouldn't want much at all for it and rot wise it's very good so shouldn't be a problem with a let in it. only downside is I won't have change to strip it for another month or so unless you want to pull all the bits off it yourself :tard:

And and for your sake hope the other driver admits liability to her insurance, people say "it was my fault, blah blah" at the time of the crash, but once theyve slept on it and had time to think they can easily say something different to the insurance.....

as above the same happend to a pall of mine in his sh*t 106 a old woman pulled out on him said it was her fault then after all it ended up going to court as she tried to blame his speed!! ended up going 50/50 as we were going too fast for the road!!

yep screwed my mate over she'd admitted it was her fault at the scene off the crash he won the first court case but she appealed then we actually had to go court ourselfs!! when we brought up that she admitted it her lawyer denied it!! then once our speed was mentiond we lost the case we were 10 mph over the limit like but she still saw us then pulled out any way!!

i have read that your speed is irrelevant - if another car pulls out and you have to change your speed to avoid a collision, it is entirely their fault as they have used poor judgement

we still lost our case beacasue off it mate!!! must depend on the barrister or what ever they are! they did seem to take the old woman's side as soon as our speed was mentiond though!!

At the roadside he admitted liability but then after speaking to his (traffic cop) dad he decided to chance it and say i had run the lights as he was waiting at a green light (for straight on) and a filter arrow to tell him when he was safe to go, if he had the filter light then obviously mine would be red, as it was mine was 100% green as it went green in front of me and the filter wouldnt come on for about another minute or so, he argued it all the way until i pointed out the the insurance company there were brand new cctv cameras watching the junction, luckily it caught him jumping the filter, mine being on green and him racing the corsa in front of him which was why his impact speed was 50+ mph as he hit me.
Unfortunately he was watching a few lasses on the corner as he turned in and didnt see me at all, so he didnt even brake, so there were no skidmarks to measure to determine his speed:eek:
He got away with attending one of those 'driver improvment' courses:cry:

My old 205 van got wrote off as some guy pull out from a T junction in front of me, he said he never saw us, the fact i took the action to swerve meant he hit the side off my van instead of us hitting the side of his..
The tosser:tosser: got away with it. he was not insured and i lost everything..
Although i do still know where he lives.. :witch:
As for the people who pull out at one junction only to travel down one junction and make you brake like hell when theirs no traffic behind you, these people need to wake up and think..

This is true actually, I failed a driving test for causing someone going what must have been around 60 to slow down by 'pulling out' on them from around half a mile away!

Depends where they hit you. If the damage is on the front (of their car), then they pulled out in front of you, clear cut case. If the damage is closer to the rear, then you failed to stop in time and will probably go 50/50.
Did you get pics of the damage to her car? Its always wise to take pictures of where the cars ended up, any skid marks on the road, and damage inflicted on both vehicles.

When our units got burnt down last year, all the cars in there that i could see were totally destroyed, and my Nova was inside.
I started having a panic attack and trouble breathing, couldnt talk or anything, got put in the back of the ambulace that was there, calmed me down etc
Turned out my Nova wasnt in there lol, infact it was in a totally different unit around 500 years further up the road because my uncle had moved it to make room, and it was totally fine :p but you know.... its still a horrible feeling :(
Its a car, at the end of the day its just a lump of metal which can be recreated, or replaced - cars can be replaced, limbs* and lives can't. I was the same when I stacked my nova at 18, upset and all that, but tbh now if I trashed a car I'd consider myself lucky I was still in one piece and get on with rebuilding or replacing it.
Mind you, I've didn't really bat an eyelid at having parts of my body cut out lol

When i stacked my nova at 19 the first thing i did was get out and check the damage, my back was killing me but a pretty much ran to the front of the car...oh then promptly burnt myself because the battery live had been sliced on the bulkhead and was shortinglol

na mate the gearbox front mount was fine drivers engine mount was alittle bent but will straighten and the rear box mount had 1 bolt hole pulled through:)

well the rear one all bolted up fine lol
with all 3 bolts aswell i had to use my mount tho as your one was rather out of shape lol
