Steering

I have a 1985 nova SR in red, some idiot broke in and snapped the steering wheel from it, i bought a couple of new steering wheels but they never fitted, so i found a steering column off another nova and that does’nt fit as apparently the SR has a slightly longer column, i was wondering if anyone could help me, do you know where i can get hold of the correct part so i can put it back on the road. im having a nightmare finding the correct part. :)

all columns are the same length....... more likely damage has been done to the column

i have spoken to vauxhaull and they say im missing a collapsable piece at the top of the collumn, this is turning into a proper nightmare.
my nova sr is in mint condition, 1985 with only 56k on the clock. and completly unmodified. i really dont want to sell it as spares.

Just put a whole new column in it with another wheel; from any 80's or 90's non airbag Vauxhall. Easy. 3 bolts on the column & the lower UJ to undo.

Just put a whole new column in it with another wheel; from any 80's or 90's non airbag Vauxhall. Easy. 3 bolts on the column & the lower UJ to undo.
i bought a whole column and its at the mechanics now but he's saying its not long enough. it comes in 2 parts and i only have 1. thanks for your comment.
