Got the wiring sorted on my 1300 irmscher injection engine the other day, all was fine and it started and reved spot on.

Came back to it this morning and now the injectors won't squirt :( at first they have been intermitent but not enough for the engine to run. Now they have stopped completely. The wiring is exactly the same as the other day, I've re done all the earths and their fine. Plus I have 2 ecu's which both work.

What else could it be? What could I try?

Any suggestions be very much appriciated :)

The dizzy /\

Hall sensor on dizzy iirc

Erm, checked pump?

Earth on pump, pressure in rail?

It picks up from the coil :)

Have they got a fuel pump relay ? might be worth a look

SR-Rally

Dizzy fine, fuel pressure tip top And obviously the pump :)

Oh yeah it has a relay which is fine. Used one off a running astra mk1 gte to double check. Would afm make difference if faulty?

is there a filter in the line???? the injectors could be clogged up

SR-Rally

No filter in the line as just trying to get car running at the moment. Should be fine as tank cleaned and new copper fuel lines? If they are clogged how best to clean?

Try another relay.

What did it sound like? I love these setups.

ok, is there fuel getting to the rail?

is the ecu definitely getting a decent voltage when cranking??

have you tried dragging it down the road?, i had a mk1 that failed to start, but after dragging it with a pickup for a couple of miles, it ran a treat, well, actually, it was dragged for about 1/2 mile till my brother broke the rope, so he shoved it.

sounds really crap, but how much fuel has it got in it??

how much fuel do you have in her

Thanks for replys :) I've tryed to relays but got another one coming tonight so will see,

About £15 of fresh fuel and fuel rail is getting loads fuel and good pressure :s

I've got another afm that il hopefully get tonight could that be it? As one I have looks like it's been tampered with.

How would I check the voltage at ecu?

Oh and it sounded real good :) louder then I thought. Il post vid up on the tube if I get her running :)

basically, put a voltmeter across the positive on the ecu & the earth & crank it over

SR-Rally

ok i'l try that after work. although i'm sure its fine as nothing has changed since it run :S

its only to check if the battery has enough oomph to get things going...

SR-Rally
28-04-10, 04:39 PM
Oh the battery is fooked, but I'm starting it with jump leads coming of me transit?

mowgli

get it charged up...

if you can get a good battery power, then try towing it..... this will tell you if there is a fault on the starting circuit side of things.

when working on the car last night i found that if i unplugged the ecu then plugged it back in the injectors would click and the car would start and run for 5-10secs thn stop.

if i keep turning the car over then there is nothing, but if i unplug the ecu and re plug it in it will run again for 10secs ????????????? whyyy

The ecu doesn't like to work if the battery's broke!

SR-Rally

Il try a new battery tomorrow :) thanks

True. Low voltage will give all kinds of odd symptoms. It's cranking over though right?

Put new battery on still nothing :( yeah it's cranking over fine :s this is gay :(

are you sure its the injectors by the way? what makes you think it is? are you getting spark at the spark plugs?

SR-Rally
01-05-10, 10:39 AM
Deffinatly get spark, you can here when injectors fire but I've also took injection rail out and cranked engine so 100% it's not injecting :( it's bit of an odd one :s

earth your fuel rail with a jump lead. Incase you have a broken earth

Have you tried a new injector relay? Also if you have access to a fax I've found my instructions for fitting
