anybody know any decent insurance companys for first time drivers ?

passed my test in march and the nova is getting motd atm so would like to get insured as soon as possible

Whats your postcode area? Try adding parents on as second drivers. Basically just try pretty much everyone online to figure out who will be cheapest, then spend an afternoon ringing round places and see if you can hammer them down any more.

Failing that, try a more insurance friendly car lol

The only downside with comparison sites is that you will then be harassed on the phone by all the companies over the coming weeks/months. Put in a false number if you havent already.

Cheapest for me is Elephant. No idea if they cover NI, as said adding parents or drivers with a good-clean history will help. Completing a Pass-plus course might knock off more than the cost of the course cost itself.

Elephant, Swiftcover and Adrian Flux were my cheapest quotes when I was younger, but I wasn't as young as you. I'd put off any modifications until you have a year or twos worth of NCB behind you. Cooltiger modified his from the off and seemed to spend most of his monthly pay packet on insurance.

insurance seems to be expensive for the younger driver atm, as said try comparison sites or ringing round will be better really:)

i used performance direct when i got a few points and was young they were pretty good!! they do a young drivers bit aswell worth a go matey! allthough i dont know if they do ireland or not but worth a go as i say!

arr, some of you are yet to learn the trick! on the when do you want the insurance to start, put in the next day, then no-one rings you lol

yeah just don't insure, when you get caught its cheaper anyway lol
