View Full Version : blocking off water pipe on xe head

i know you can block off the water pipe on the gearbox end of the xe head with a core plug i was just wondering if anyone knows what size it is and where i could get a core plug from to cap this off

imo i wouldnt its part of the main flow of water through the head !!! but its your choice !!!

no heater matrix is the answer and it works fine on my mates 550bhp let but he had the head built and doesent know what size it is

Dont block it off, if you are not running a matrix then just join the pipes where the matrix should be.....

I run no heater matrix.
I bought the 'flexi' Samco hose and piped from the end of the head to the plastic pipe that runs around the back where the matrix would have plumbed into.
All seems ok with that method at the moment.

all i can offer in proof of 550bhp let is pictures of my mates astra gte all work was done at nortech but engine is now been built into a rwd escort cosworth shell should be out and about in a month or 2
car was running similar spec to speckeys tigra was apart from this has headwork and a set of one off cams speced for the engine build
speckey is now running very similar spec to this now
