Unsure if this is correct section? but i suppose its sort of technical-ish lol

But...

On lock, my pass side wheel catches on the f28 in my nova.

Is this normal? havent been driving it yet but noticed it when pulling the car out of the garage.

if not, what would i have done wrong or what can i do to change it?

Cheers :)

Edds did this with an F20. That will be an MOT fail, but your only going to suffer with it when parking tbh, so wheel spacers for MOT imo.

is it just due to wheel width then?

Mine rubs on a F20, with 15s and 195/45 tyres.

The only way i could get mine through its mot last year was to set the tracking a mile out lol

Mine catches on my F28 with 195/45/16 tyres, for my first mot when I got it back on the road i fitted a spacer and adjusted the tracking slightly.. Long term it might be worth getting a lock stop of some sort fitted, but as said, it only happens when parking.

Mine catch's a little, but thankfully it's never been an issue at MOT.

If it touches at all it should fail a MOT

My old nova the wheels used to always catch either on the F20/28 one way and the chassis leg the other way on the drivers side! Never had any issues.

My old MOT guy was getting a bit ar$ey with my MOT and the paint on the end of the gearbox was worn off and the tyre was touching.

My solutions was to pull the steering rack boot back and put a small jubilee clip on the actual rack - took 5 mins tops - took it back for a retest - had a turning circle of a HGV but didn't touch and passed OK.

Just took it home and took off the jubilee clip - simples !

mine has been rubbing on slabs on both sides so may get some spacers on it to solve the problem but mate will mot it so it will pass any way

the offside wheel rubs on the inner arch
the nearsdie wheel rubs on the box when the engine is in

mot guy never bothered about mine when it had the f28 in, he was too busy buzzing of the car lol

just smear crap all over it before m.o.t so it hides the mark and try not to full lock it, then its all good
