ive used valvoline vr1 20 50 mineral to wear my engine in, im going for 10 60 millers fully synthetic now, which i plan to change along with the filter just before i go to the tuners. question is, without actual removing the oil cooler, what have people done to remove old engine oil from the system? i know you dont have to completly rid the engine of all traces of mineral, but the cooler holds a fair bit which i think would be to much to leave in when going to fully synth? opinions please

I would either run the engine for a bit so the temp gets to a normal running temp and the majority of the oils should run back to the sump/filter area. Or you could buy a tin of engine flush which shouldnt harm anything as long as you follow the destructions on the tin.

Disconnect the cooler and blow it out with an airline (or your mouth lol)

Ok I just been advised now by a couple of people to leave the running in oil in unroll it's been setup? then change the oil and filter surely not

To be fair yayoboy I dropped my car off at the rolling road with the running in oil still in. I only left it in because there is a chance the engine might still be running in when he boots it which means wasting oil to change after the map. Well that what the guy mapping guy told me
