Have searched on here and Migweb...
When removing Aircon and powersteering pump from the X16 as I obviously wont be using them, what do people do about a belt and tensioning it for alternator? Will I have to knock something up or jus use a belt thats small and stretch it on?
Also is blanking the EGR worth doing? Seems some people have had problems after doing it....
EGR blanking is worth it, havnt heard anybody having problems AFTER blanking?!
With the belt, if you run the standard wide belt stuff (as i do) you can use the auto tensioner/lower alt bracket from a sport etc with no pas/aircon.
Might be hard to find though?
Otherwise its Single V stuff, which a lot of people have to run as some find there isnt enough space for the wide multi V setup (Standard), So then your need to make a bracket so you can slot it and tension it like a standard nova.

Ok cheers.
Another thing, how does the standard nova speedo work with the VSS on the X16XE?
you just screw the vss into the gearbox the screw the end of the speedo cable onto the vss the wire in the vss
^Your missing the point.
VSS your need a nova 1.2/1.4 SPi VSS, as it has the speedo cable in the top. Shouldnt be too hard to find.

Ah right that makes sense, couldnt see how the x16xe VSS would work.... thats because it wont!
Cheers AW06
SRi/ Late GSi (C16SE) also have the VSS.
SRi/ Late GSi (C16SE) also have the VSS.
As well as the early 1.2/1.4spi corsas too IIRC.

Bumping this up as I have another question...
Whats the small water pipe coming from the back of the engine for?
Do I just blank it as I have my heater matrix pipes and rad and header tank pipes all connected.... cant see anywhere else it may go?
iirc it does to the throttle body. not sure if the throttle bodys the same as the c16xe

Regarding belt set up etc:
Use the single v pulleys. Run the nova alternator tensioning bracket but you will have to space it out from the head.
Thats the easy option :)

Yeah I've got single V setup bud, cheers.
Will have to check TB see if pipe fits on there somewhere.
