View Full Version : Wiper linkage keeps popping off

From the pivot point where the arm comes off the motor to the wiper arm, keep pushing it back on but as soon as I turn the wipers on it pops back off, any quick fix for this?

There's a small clip like bit built in to the plastic cone, push it in and it sits behind the ball joint and holds it on.

I've done that mate but it still pops off when I put it onto the second or third setting.

its funked i tried cable tying mine but it doesnt work new 1 ftw

Mine did exactly this, I cut 2 small strips of cable tie & wedged them in the pivoting bush. Theres a slot for them to sit in amazingly. Never popped off again. Pics tomorrow.

Awesome, pics would help a great deal too as I had to drive home from work in the rain, a 10 minute drive turned into a 30 minute stop drive stop drive stop drive... :cry:

i wrapped ptfe tape around the ball joint to make it fit snug in the hole and never had a problem with it again

i had this happen at 95+mph on the autobahn nr dusseldorf once... the missus had to direct me from the passenger side till i could get to the hard shoulder...

i got a sharp screwdriver & a hammer & hit it round the top edge of the socket to bend the plastic over, and then thumped it back on.. it lasted for a couple of years till the car got written off

i think danny s-p has a brand new linkage arm and he will be using single wiper on the gte. so ask him cos he has one lying around

Fixed it, took the linkage off my other Nova, job sorted.
