thankfully the busy british motorways are getting upgraded with concrete centre walls to stop this happening.

but 30 years ago, most just had grass up the middle, and the death rates were huge

Maybe it could have been if a problem with the suspension was spotted before it went on the roads. Surely there would be give away signs that it was on the way out.

I assumed the suspension would show serious signs of wear if it going to give up like that, tyre blowout sounds feasible though as I've seen other vids like that, only not ending up in death.

an airbag suspension system has a rubber balloon, a metal beam & a rubber mounting bush, there really isn't much else that could go wrong
