more e16se wiring trouble

Been trying to get this car runing for weeks now:mad: Its a sri shell with the e16 engine i opened the car loom at the bulkhead next to wiper motor then joined the blue - temp gauge
green- rev counter
black-ignition live
red -live
eml-dont have on engine loom:confused:
red blue-fuel pump

When i turn ignition on fuel pump primes end car turns over but no spark:confused:
have tried another airflow metre and the black box the controls the injectors:(
the coil am using is the long round one with only one 4 pin plug attached.and the dizzy is the orange cap

any help much needed as i am beat:cry:

Silly question but what method are you using to test for a spark?

turnin key .was all runin in another car

says earth to me then. checked theres power to the coil?

tested the black wire ignition live i think goin to the coil through the 4 pin plug gettin 12 v

testing by putin plug against block and cranking engine

did you take a plug out of engine, put the lead on it and crank it over to see if you have a spark?

strange. have you checked earths? changed coil?

there is a yellow and black wire that goes to dizzy through a 3 pin plug gettin 12 v there
on the coil the same colour of wire is runin through the 4 pin plug that feeds the coil no volts there is there ment to be

got earth on gearbox and on top next to injectors for the engine loom

where did you connect the black ign +ve to??? just any ordinary ign live won't do, as a lot of them shut down on cranking..... you need to get it connected to the permanent ign live off the ign switch, although people keep going on about the wiper motor having one, i just went to the switch so i knew it was right...

to test the ign live you have used, put a tester from it to earth & crank it over.. if it is correct, it will remain at 12v, if not, it will go to 0v

i found the 6 wires cut and taped up in the loom coming through the bulkhead next to the wipermotor the blue /black/ redbl/green/brown white/red/ as the engine i removed was set up for carbs
