right my cars insured but i havent recieved the docs. if i was to day insure it and print off the document could i tax my car?

Yeah, temp insurance CAN be used to get tax. However, the post office (assuming you're getting tax there) may get a little shirty at a self-printed insurance certificate. They're not supposed to accept them, but most won't bat an eyelid.

I did worry about while sat in line at the dvla, but to be fair HIC send all their docs by email, so what else can you do :tard:

You're fully entitled to ask for them to be sent through the post, but then all they'll do is print them out themselves and post them to you. Then charge you for the privilege no doubt lol

Sky send all docs to you hard copy.

[edit] come to think of it, HIC are the only insurance company I've ever had that emailled me the docs. Everyone else (bar temp insurance companies) sent them to me through the post.
