paint shades

if there's ten shades off glacier white how would i know which mine is?? i dont want to go buy the wrong paint tomorow and balls up my doors!!!

any help apriciated!

Rattle can paint is a crap match. It will just be picked almost at random, you get shades from more red to more grey. If your getting paint mixed then get it matched to the car, a bodyshop will check it to a paint chip thats got all the shades on it.

Depends on the colour, not every colour has a zillion shades from the factory.

Benn's advice is spot on.

where about's in doncaster are you getting your paint from?
i got some mixed from "auto paint doncaster" 298 askern road, toll bar, doncaster, 01302 822822,
i got some rattle tins mixed for £10 each 400ml tins
they will match it to your car if you take it to them :thumb:

The worse are the Italian's as they have a really bad habbit of not cleaning the lines out on the paint stage on the factory floor.

So the first red car will be all over the place, almost all their colour have 5+shades..

My old astra was Polar Sea Blue. The Vx bodyshop I use said there was 6 shades of that. I was also told that it's not unusual for a car shell to go through paint in the factory and then for some reason need to be painted another colour so it goes back through new paint on old and bingo, new paint shade lol

thanks lads and 7ova i went vaux i was just going to get a code i only got a litre if it matches il get more if not il get it mixed up from those lads in askern!

any one know if vauxs paints are good matches? They seemed to know what paint i wanted so i got some to try!

All the rattle cans I've had from Vaux have been spot on, but again they will be the most common shade of the colour you order, if you're unlucky you'll have a different shade.

they just rang me there is none in the country and are going to refund me as it wil take a few weeks to get to me so im going to use the lads 7ove advised!
