Well in a couple of weeks hopefully i will be fitting a f13cr to my 1.2  from a 4speed f10
And i was wondering do you have to declare this on the v5, which i cant find atm, i swear on the v5 it says 4 speed

Someone clarify it for me please :d
or tell me i am a tard lol

i can't see why you would need to.. unless you were radically altering the drivetrain

if it actually says on the V5 or on your insurance certificate then i would imagine you would have to declare it, however if it doesnt i wouldnt worry about your V5 but a courtesy call to your insurers wouldnt go amiss.

just remember that it is a 5 speed box, and not a close ratio box......cough cough

to be honest, if it is a 3.74:1 diff, then the cluster should fit straight into the f10 housing, no need to pull the whole box off, just put the 5 speed shifter box on top & once you've modded the stick inside the car, the linkage won't need adjusting at all.
its just a case of drain the oil, support it on a jack, take out the left hand mount bolt & lower it a bit, then it comes out under the lh arch.

There's nothing on the V5C about the gearbox at all.

I take it you have the V5 with estate on it? lol

if it stipulates its a 4 speed on his insurance he should tell them. you are supposed to tell them if you swap one 1.2 engine for another 1.2 because of the different engine numbers

I take it you have the V5 with estate on it? lol

no but my insurance certificate says its an estate

I know this thread is pretty pointless, but meh,
its a public car forum and i genuinely didn't know if you had to declare the change in gears lol
I like having the feeling of if i get pulled over by traffic police, there is not one thing that is illegal/undeclared
on my car, and yea i doubt it the police are going to ever check if i have declared my gears on my insurance but meh it makes me feel better :d

Re: V5C - it doesn't say anything about gearbox, so no issues there.

Re: Insurance - it didn't come out the factory with it, so its a modification, ergo insurance need to know. Wouldn't have thought they'd charge anything for it tbh, especially if you angle it as "old gearbox broke and only replacement available was 5spd" :d

In all fairness id say its a pretty valid question aswell, after all of the tards who will go out and do engine conversions, suspension drops and suchlike and not even think or deliberately not inform the dvla or their insurance companies, its made me happy to see someone wanting to enquire/make sure they are 100% legal on their car/modifications:thumb:

As said i would ring your insurers and inform them you have changed it just in case they do see it is a mod, better to be safe/covered/legal than sorry:d

Taa Jack just what i wanted to hear, only reason i said it may be on my v5 is that i remember seeing it in my documents for my car and couldn't remember if it was on my insurance or v5 papers, Sorry for the useless thread, sure there will be more :d
