Common problem mate.

Most likely to be the sender (in teh tank) fecked.

it could be the float has a hole in it, and it sinks, but either way, its the sender thats tatered

Most likely a sender mate. Had a similar probem, Would read from 0 - 1/4 and from 3/4 to full. Anthing outside of that zilch.

I searched for years for a 2nd hand sender for my Nova (as there were quite a few different types) in the end I took it out and went to Vaux. It cost me £64 for one. Hope yours isn't so hard to find second hand.

Give Autovaux a call first.

Very much doubt motorfactors will do fuel gauges. Worth a shot but best to go see Vauxhall.

Just carry a can & use the trip counter. Start an economy diary in a little book!

not a fuel guage i need its a sender to the tank looks like its a dealer part and i really dont wanna rely on keepin a jerry can in the boot cos runnin it out of fuel all the time cant be good for the filters and its a little embarrising

Sorry I meant sender. Motorfactors don't do senders AFAIK.
