this will really upset the global warming lot, cos a good volcanic eruption will lower the global temperature by blanking out the sun a bit & all the sulphur it emits lowers the temp.....

Also ash can sandblast the screen on jets so there is no visability at all ever lol

LOL was going to say about the 747 that was turned into a fat glider a few years back.

Its unlikely anything would happen, but its all about risk management. Say they sent an aircraft up in the air and it did develop engine failure, and dropped out of the air with loss of all lives. You can bet they'd be paying out £££££££ in compensation to the families because "they shouldn't have flown knowing the risk" etc, blah blah.
