x16xe wont start

Currently fitting a x16xe into my nova, and the first time of cranking it started an ran for about 5 - 10 seconds, but now it wont start at all which is confusing as i have got fuel and spark? Any ideas whats likely to be stopping it from starting?

sounds like it used the fuel which was left in the rail,

check the earths and imob stuff

fuel is going through the rail as cranked it with the return line off to see if it comes through, eml light doesnt flash like it does when the imob isnt recognised.

bollocks to the big block lol, one other thing is that its throwing fault code 84 and 85 i think which is something to do with imob but its not the fault that says its the wrong codes or something? But then as far as im aware all the wiring is correct

Are you sure you are reading the codes right?
On later x16xe's they flash out 4digit P Codes

it flashes number 12 first to start the sequence and then flashes 2 numbers for each code? if that makes sense lol

Thats on early vauxhalls :S an x16xe should be on EOBD 'P' codes dont think they have the old type codes on them.

Got it started but now its only firing on 2 cylinders?

Pulled the plugs out and cleaned/checked them?

Could be a duff Coilpack.

i cant get mine running either im fairly certain i have the wiring right but as soon as i turn the ignition on the eml light flashes constantly any ideas? chip transponder and ecu are all from the same car which i drove in the workshop myself a few days ago its driving me nuts
the other thing is the engine loom has 3 extra wires on a plug all with a black trace do you know what these are spud?
