for what engine?

Easy to setup, you take them fitted to the car (correctly) and some cash to someone like Peter Baldwin at Orwell (between Cambridge and Royston) to get them setup right.

i thinking about dumping them on the 1.2 i have fitted now because it hasridiculously low mileage and i know its a good engine, finding a 1.6 that i wanted has been hassle so far to say the least.

same process as fitting them to a 1.3 engine then.

cathedral port inlet manifold , lower alternator mounts, etc etc

is this the right spec i need.
Choke size: 25mm
Main Jets: 100
Emulsion Tubes: F11/F15
Air Correctors: 150
Idle Jets: 40/f9
Pump Jets: 30/35
Auxiliary Venturis: 4.0

pass. 25mm sounds very very small, but hey

to be honest, a set of bike carbs would be cheaper & probably easier to sort.... and it seems a waste of money fitting a set to a 1.2.. the insurance alone would make it more than a stock 1.3 or 1.4

i was going to originally drop them on a 1.6 but finding a 1.6 8v with few miles and good nick is proving difficult

behr, early mk3 astras also had the c16se in them, and that it where the majority of donor engines are coming from

the 1.6 is bomb proof anyway so who cares on the milage

so if i pick up a 1.6 can i just take all the old inlet stuff off ect, what do i need to do to get it running in my car?

an f13 box, a 1400sr(or similar) distributor & coil set, a decent weber manifold, and a gte exhaust system, even though a 1300 4-2-1 will do fine, but the 1200 one is crap

i got a 16sv head and a rebuilt gte bottom end when i did mine years ago. it was already a carb head so it was easier. go to ebay buy a set of twin 40's with linkages already from a 1600 engine and then its easy to make an alternator lowering bracket. the difficult part will be finding an inlet manifold to fit, i used an irmscher one from the old nova sport. its worth doing though just for the sound of them alone!
