Yep this was his build TECHNICALSTEVE (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119791&highlight=technical+steve) and was a bodge.

so apart from the fact that it wasn't a 1300, or an sr, or even half decent, the listing is quite correct in every respect... you should buy it straight away........... then strip the scrap iron off it & re sell it as standard for more money

I seem to remember in his thread something along the lines of it was built with bits he had lying around and he wasn't to sure how long it would last, if it worked, and was it not on pissedonheads a couple of weeks back? I remember a similar thread.

I got a few pictures of the car sent to me, even disregarding the engine (which I wasn't interested in at all), I wouldn't take the car if it was given to me!!

Pictures weren't the best, but I reckon the boot floor had a crease in it, which would lead me to believe it's had a smack at some point too......

Yeh that Technical Steve, the person that originally built it, rear ended it and ended up buying it from the person who was driving it so as not to go through the insurence.

The boot floor was definately creased, and it wasnt the most solid of shells either iirc - mainly as it was not repaired after being damaged, just knocked out.

Was definately a 1.2 and Steve offered me it for £300 (iirc)- only difference is its now got an interior, bonnet and bumpers.

Would not fancy driving that anywhere near a road as it was only ever built as an experiment with lots of "temporary" bodges - hence why it probably still has no mot!!

Well it has put me off but has intreeged me a lil as it is a lil dif thought it was 1300 sr turbo it just sounds like bits off this and that. Although i do like the sound of a sr turbo?

it is a 1.2 star with a damaged rear end (see technicalsteves original thread for details of the "repair") with a 306DTI turbo strapped on and that being about it.

Its not an SR and it wasnt a 1.3 either! So the ad is slightly misleading
