New Nova Basic Mod ideas

hi just brought a 1992 nova 1.2 8v 3door in red, wanted info on best mods/styling to get me on the way :confused: not to expensive ideally i will progress to a red top in it once funds increase any ideas cheers
any places to get good secondhand parts.

And...Have a look at folks project threads and see what they've done

I'd suggest some lowering springs and uprated shocks, 15" Vauxhall wheels, up-specced Nova interior etc :)

nice one thats what i was thinking at first lower maybe 60mm?which you think is best want to look low but be able to get over speed bumps lol will look in project section now cheers

-60mm is about as low as I'd personally go - Brings it down to a nice height with 15's fitted if you go for 15's

Any lower and you'll no be able to drive it lol

lol yeah think 60mm will be best then. was looking at prices on Cesaros alloys 15in like that sort of style wheels, will be ok to put a 2ltr brakes on with 15s?

I'll be doing them at some stage on my 1.0 Nova that's now a 1.4 SR :)

oh right great will do that myself then.oh yeah 1.4sr nice one.once i done basic mods suspension ets i will be looking for a bigger engine, work my way up to a redtop .trying to upload pics of my nova but unsure how?

Have a look at the parts forsale section and also eBay - You might get a bargain on some bits :)

the first mod you should do on any car your wishing to upgrade and change is sort the suspension out and get it lowered. changes the whole feel of the car, plus if u put your suspension on before your wheels you will know if your new heels will rub or not as soon as you put them on instead of lowering it on the wrong offset wheels and instantly ruining your arches.

^^^^ except on a nova where the shockingly dangerous set of delco brakes needs burying 18 foot below ground never to be seen again.

2 litre brakes are a cheap easy swap. Remove existing calipers, slide discs off, trim/bend or remove dust shield then fit 256mm discs and ATE calipers then bleed :thumb:

are you using an image host such as photobucket? if not you need to create a photobucket account and upload your pictures to there. Then when you click on the image icon on here a box will appear, copy and paste the image URLs from photobucket into the box and click ok.

This word brought....it seems to be used alot when something is bought. Is this an English thing? Or it just used alot in the wrong text? Sorry for being a kill joy, just something that's always baffled me.

yes, but you will need to modify the gearlever so it goes far enough over to the right to select 5th gear.

Remove the lever and using a hacksaw cut off the square lump on the right hand side of the lever. 5 minute job :thumb:

get a f13cr box, the ratios are pretty good, and its ready for a bigger engine when the time comes..

you carnt see in pics but bonnet was black(rubbish rattle can job)so have now sprayed it back flame, spoiler sprayed back red,and fitted cd player. got 2.0ltr brakes alloys smooth tailgate and bad boy vent to fit in next two weeks.but thining of spraying bumpers same colour first.

its just my taste, i personaly hate them. but if you like them then do it, but you will get more reactions like mine lol

Lol I prob will, like mk1's without them but with the mk2's think looks a lot better
