Rallying fun.......

As a joint venture a work mate and myself have bought ourselves a rally car. Well he owns it were going to run/repair it. Belonging once upon a time to the works Skoda team (in 1990 :) ) our car more recently belonged to our sales manager at work who now drives the Ibiza that I sometimes post pics of.
Its ready to rock apart from a front bumper that needs refitting and a headlamp a driveshaft and the fire extinguishers need replacing.
Its only a baby 1.3 OHV but it fair whips along as it weighs naff all. Full perspex windows, full roll cage (bolted in then welded). Coil overs front and rear, two sets of wheels and new tyres the list goes on. The price for this bit of fun..

Hoping to fix a few niggles and get it out for Castle Combe at the weekend for a blat.

Possibly later on. Were gonna run it for now as it is and see how we get on. The 1.3 class is quite popular and Im pretty sure we can be competitive.

looks like a fun project.

stay in the 1.3 class for now. the bigger engined classes tend to have a big bucket of cash thrown at them so you'd need to spend a fortune to get nearly competative :)

Good on ya m8. I reckon you cant go wrong for 500 notes. Skodas are rock hard rally cars. Mucho fun - cheap and cheerful. I like the big fook off rope :lol: Thats my kind of motorsport :D

looks cool, my m8 used to have a skoda pick up thing, that sorta old style shape, that was a 1.3 and he tuned it up a bit, used to fly it did'nt weigh anything, was sooooo fun!
