when i was putting the loom for the headlights back in i noticed thies two wires which must have previously been cut at somepoint in its life and i have no idea what there is for?

I was going to say radiator temp switch, but I believe thats green/black and comes off slightly more towards the middle of the car? I cant think of much electrical sat on that side tbh!

Its for the second horn on the GSi that should be bolted to the bumper carrier bolts under the wheelarch.
