Hi. I thought I'd do that newbie thing and say 'hello'. Here are some photos of the SR that got me into novas. So here goes, its the beginning of 2003 and Im looking for my second ever car to replace my trusty mk2 fiesta 1.1L. I bought this for £700 with no T&T and (found out later) a blown head gasket.

Novas on tour 2004, outside the Queen's gates at Sandringham palace. This is my fave photo from back in the day! Dont laugh! You have to remember this was the style back then.
Maybe not the Union Jack shorts though....

This was when I decided to fill the boot full of ICE, which with hindsight slowed the car down a bit. It was only a 1.4 with weber 32/34 and cam.

Then I put a 2.0 8v in it, flowed head, tubular manifold, lightened flywheel, nova GSI F13 'box and 'shafts.

Which got replaced with the more conventional 20XE

The car finally eneded up[ looking like this, although it did get some cesaros.

This was my top speed run on a private runway....ahem....
The needle has gone all the way around, but was probably only 120-130mph realistically.

Then like all novas, I lost it to the rust disease. Although Im going to re-shell and do it differently. In the meantime I bought a couple of brown 2 door saloons, but thats a different thread!!
