Helped Jonny_Ayr scrap my old GSI today

:( Sad day for us.

It could have been saved but neither of us have time or money and have a corsa gsi coming tomorrow to be broken for spares.
It was in need a fair amount of welding.

It was Jonny_Ayr's car i sold him it in october.
We tried to remove the window surrounds to no joy and the windscreen had a crack in it .

The shell was literally bare, except the pedals and the rear windows.
I bought the car originally for £80 off a friend, not running, i carried out a repair to the wiring loom leading to the crank sensor & distributor, and it fired first go, renewed the rear brakes shoes, cylinders, front>back lines, balljoints, trackrods, and generally aimed for MOTing it, got some welding done, got the interior immaculate (Vaughan will vouch for it)
Got an unrefusable offer on an XE'd corsa, so Jonny offered me £400 and it was his, then he put it for an MOT at a main dealer garage because it was local and £25, failed on 2 pages so he stripped it. -

Some of the parts on that motor were good and the interior was spotless! But the shell had seen better days and had the wiring! Gone to a better place IMO

BTW, did you keep the ID ?

BTW, did you keep the ID ?

silly question mate, it illegal to use this ID on another shell, that's called ringing, unless you get the brand new 5 grand shell from Ireland,

Archie

Nah Vaughan, i did suggest it, i found a vin plate off my dads manta gte in his toolbox lol.

It wasnt the worst but it wasnt my car to make the choice sadly.
I've been clearing my garage for some time but sadly i still have a lot to clear out so had no space or i would have gladly taken it back.
