Just coming to refitting the rack, and there appears to be some kind of glue/adhesive of the bulkhead where it was fixed. I have been told you need to use some glue when refitting. Has anybody heard of this, and if so what do you use?
Sam
Never heard of that before. Not seen any glue on any Novas I've removed the rack from. Pretty sure Haynes doesn't say anything either?

Took mine off the other day and there was no glue anywhere
Same here ive never seen any glue or such like just rebolt it back up mate.
probabably the remains of the rack bushes after many years of being hot and incontact with the bulkhead.
there might have been some silicon round the entry to the car though to ensure it was watertight

Thanks guys, just wanted to clear that up.
Stu, it does look like it could have come from the bushes, they appear to have been glued on, can't think why though
Thanks all
Sam
Ps. i will post some pics up when it is all finished, been far to busy to do anything with the images, though i had every intention of showing everyone the progress lol
