I have a engine from a astra mk3 van with loom and gearbox, its a 1.7 diesel turbo, has anybody ever fitted this engine into a nova before or have any advice for me? first engine swap ive done but guess im going straight for the deep end haha
Cheers
yes, but only do it if its a Isuzu engine, other wise it will be ****!
With the isuzu engine and some minor 15minutes tweaks you can get it easily to 115bhp And more torque than a 20Xe. Thus making a very fast+reliable car which will see 45mpg with ease.... And this is why i love diesel novas...
But if your starting with a petrol engined donor you need lots of bits,
O/S chassis leg, 1.5td exhaust, alternater, oil filter, engine mounts, F13 or F15 gear box, Fuel tank and lines, Bigger rad, (btw a TD one will not fit a petrol with out modifing) Maybe an intercooler...
oh and a bit of know how :D
Good luck any way

If its this one:

then leave it where it is. The one with turbo with lines through it on the rocker cover is the Isuzu one.
