When painting the underbody, whats the best thing to use? i painted my brake drum yesturday with the pot paint. when i was buying the hammerite i also saw the rattle can, i just want to know what would be better to use for the under?

ideally it would be best to stone gaurd the under body and under the arches and spary it with a 2pk primmer and paint mate, but if its not possible for you or your not to bothered with the finish being perfect you could use hamerite smooth and brush paint it as this will give a good strong protective coating.

mate, that looks lovely, my plans for my gte, think im going to use hammerite though ive already done the inner arches, looks spot on that!

Thanks mate, it looks good i must say, but a pain in the bum to keep every thing clean and new looking lol.

But its all worth it ................. lol

hmm, well i was hoping to just hammerite it all, but yours looks stunning. so its wheather i can wait around to get get 2pk primer etc
i want the right sort of finish but at the minute im un-avalible to get hold of a ramp so im using jacks and stands at the mo, the whole underbody is clean as ive spent the last few days doin that whilst my sister painted my drums and inner arches...

will just have to see how i get on, many thanks 4 the help +Rep

similar good results would be got from hamerite tbh mate.

Hammerright is good, but it can chip easy. If you can bare it all and re under seal would be better.. But painting it with hammeright does the trick and looks good, just keep an eye on it.

chassis black three coats of that and when its dry you can hit it with a hammer ind it does not chip off
