right, im mid build on a mates p reg 1.2 8v corsa b, which is getting a x18xe, and there are 2 plugs on the engine loom which have me stumped. my mate took the loom off the motor, when he removed it from the vec. so he isnt sure where they go. heres some pics-

this plug is a 2 pin sensor wire, at the end of the injector rail its not the crank, cam or knock sensor, on the right of this pic, any ideas?

this one is right at the end of the loom over the gearbox, 4 pin, i think it may be the feeds into the loom but im not sure, or it could be the air pump????

cheers

Pass on the plugs, need a wiring diagram really. Or just search around the engine for something missing a plug lol

I would wire up the VSS, these ecotec engines usually throw a fit without a speed signal, so i dont think the 1800 would be any different!

EDIT-Actually just realised this is a big block 1800 16v?
If thats the case its pretty much identical to my 2.0 eco, and id put a tenner on the plug in the first pic being the coilpack plug, thats where the coilpack sits, to the right of the inlet :)

its not, the coilpack is a 4 pin mate, thats a 2 pin jobbie. had a good look yesterday and couldnt see anything, but tomorrow may be different. wheres the best place for a vss signal? nova spi speedo cable?

Sorry, missed the 2pin bit! lol

Is there a plug on the bottom edge of the inlet? Seem to remember there being a 2pin sensor or something on that inlet "box" on my eco, at the bottom.

For the VSS, what gearbox does it have? Does it run a speedo cable? If so just fit a nova/corsa vss, and then put the speedo cable on top

its on an f16cr, so any vss will do? mint. i shall have a look for the 2 pin under the inlet, cheers mate. tbh these ecos arnt that bad..... apart from rippijng the dash apart to trace the transponder wires.... found your diag now tho mate, cheers!!!

Actually, a thought, does the corsa have an electronic speedo?
Some P-reg did.

If it did do you still have the old engine/box?

i think he does have the old box, if it helps it was an immob corsa to start with???

What's the colour of the wires in the first plug?

This is why i have the Haynes manual for the engine.. Give you all the wiring colours. Really helps.

the wires in the first plug are shielded, so you cant tell.:(

the 2 pin plug is for the vac box by the inlet iirc
if not its something to do with vacuum or charcoal canister to my knowledge
may be wrong but worth some input :thumb:

sorted it today, had the knock and crank sensor plugs confused. doesnt matter now as we got a c18xe loom and ecu from upullit for a fiver. :d
