Gsi non starter

Hi guys im currently restoring a J reg Gsi and I have got a problem. THe vehicle will not start there is no response when the key is turned to position 2. the dash lights come on in position 1 and the fuel pump kicks in but as you turn the key there is no response what so ever!! help!!!! cheers

battery good? could be a starter problem

yeh mate battery is good and i thought about the starter as there is no actual response at all!

is the starter wired up correctly?

good batttery?

im guessing its been sitting a while if its a restoration..

give the starter a smack with a piece of wood and hammer it might just be the solonoid in the starter stuck.

yeah it has been sat for a while!! will give the starter a smack. from the looks of it the starter is the problem then guys. cheers

Right guys fingers crossed i have got a new starter.....took the old one off at weekend hopefully this will sort it!

if not does the car have an immobilizer? did you buy it as a runner?
