Will it fit? What's needed?
yes it will fit. straight in.
as long as you have a small block ohc engine, it is fine. (just in case someone with a 1.0 ohv thinks one will fit)

I have been offered a corsa gsi box for cheap money as it needs a seal replaced. What gearbox is normally found on the GSi corsa?
depends, either f13 or f15.

it must be a fair bit lighter tho which for my project is key
also i presume will be geared lower which is another bonus?
so you fit a lard assed 20XE.... :p
The only real bonus to fitting the F13 is using existing drive shafts. There are a few threads about it kicking about.
Personally I dont think its a great move but you go ahead and eat your way through boxes for the sake of some driveshafts and mount lol
