45's are WAY WAY overkill for a 1.2

Keep going, it's a 1.2 lol
Can 1.2's actually be made faster? I thought they were the pinnacle of 8v engineering.

They are well nippy for a 1.2. Fast as **** never been ragged, lost the V5 and keys, FSH at my nans etc.

err yeah, 40's
with the right inlet manifold

use the same manifold as for a 1.3 engine, assuming your 1.2 is a carb engine anyway. They will overfuel, this cant be avoided but the sound is immense. PM boffer8 for more info :d

they wont overfuel if setup right :wall:

can't choke/jet the carbs down enough for 1200s. My mate boffer8 gets terrible MPG from his setup.

dhla carbs are twin 40s lol, if you need to ask questions like that i would do a bit more research first before thinking about fitting them :thumb:

yes, you will want one designed for the cathedral ports. the Nova Sport manifold is your best bet

sorry to ask but wat is cathedral ports?

all the 8 valve heads have different shaped inlet ports, the 1200 and 1300 carb engines have a cathedral-shaped inlet - squared bottom and arched at the tops :)

you should be able to pick one up a bit cheaper than that. Another thing to watch out for when fitting carbs to a 1.2 is the alternator needs lowering with a special bracket (or drill a bit of plate and lower the original bracket) and a longer tensioner arm needs fitting.

What jet do you reckon i would want on these as dont want to be over fueling to much

couldnt tell you matey, search boffer8 and send him a PM. Hopefully he will give you a bit more info with jet and choke sizes :d

no problem mate :)
Josh, give Wilshers garage in Orwell a call, Peter (cant remember his surname) will be able to set them up RIGHT so they wont overfuel and will run great.....
you CAN get T40's(weber or dellortos) to run fine on a 1.2 if the person setting them up know what hes doing.
Its worth noting that finding someone who knows exactly what they are doing with webers is tricky so finding someone who knows about dellortos (your DHLA carbs, although I'm confused how youve gone from 45's to 40's in no time lol) would be trickier.

Correct on the above, I took mine to a place with an ace reputation for setting up sport 40's (Webers), they did a terrible job on my Dellortos. I did better over the phone with the guys at eurocarb lol
Any reason you're looking at Dellorto rather than Weber?
Got a manifold you need here pm me if intrested.

eh? dhla are dellortos and dcoe are webers any pair of either will fit your nova but to be honest put a 14 sr engine in and you are probly going to get the same wild horse power:wtf:
