im planning on wrapping my type c manifold, would have it ceramic coated but im going to nurburg the end of next month and havent got the time to wait. but.... on looking on the net to find out 'techniques' to wrap it, found quite a few people saying that its dangerous, and they would never fit it as its a 'accident waiting to happen' due to it catching fire (gaps in the wrap or something) any opinions/experience, cheers, sean

youre meant to treat them with an oil resistant coating or something

if fitted properly its not a problem.

soak it in water, wrap with 1/4-1/2 width overlap minimum, keep it tight, wear a mask, either use jubilee clips at the ends/key points or wrap with mig wire tightly too.

I also recommend the EVIL paint you can get to go ontop of the wrap to give it extra life span etc.
