Where does this plug go? C16SE

On the end of my wiring loom I have a large black connector with two pins. One of the pins has two back wires, one that comes from the main loom, the other goes to the coil pack. The other pin has a green wire to it, which connects directly to the #1 pin on the coil pack. What is this plug meant to go into as I believe this is causing loss of spark on two cylinders.

Do you have a pic? Where abouts on the loom is it?

Green is your "Fire" wire, so needs to go to the coilpack, it also goes to the clocks for a tacho reading.

Its not a great pic but it's p*ssing down with rain out lol.

The connector is there. You can see the green wire loops round to the coil pack.

That looks like the plug that goes on a carbed coil set up, was the car carbed before hand? i dont think that plug has anything to do with the 1600 loom,,, well theres not one on my e16se loom anyway lol

well its got plugs for the injectors and map sensor and crank sensor etc

I am beginning to think I have the wrong loom. If anyone with a C14/16SE would like to check their loom I'd be very grateful.

There is, it plugs into the bottom of the coil.

As far as the C16 goes, I would imagine its now defunct and the rev signal is taken off of the ecu.

Well I'm beginning to think that I have the wrong wiring loom. Just to make things a little clearer, I'm converting an X16SZR to C16SE.

The wires to the coil pack on the loom I have are different to every wiring diagram I can find on autodata and the haynes manual.

I have:

Pin 1 - Green wire to plug pictured above
Pin 2 - Brown to earth
Pin 3 - Black to switched live
Pin 4 - Red/back pulse from ECU

Autodata suggests that pin 3 should be switched also. So I think I need to source another wiring loom.

I did think after I posted it may be the wrong loom, I couldn't remember if that specific plug is car side or engine side of the loom though.

That plug is on the same bit of loom as the map sensor and the ron plug that runs across the top.

Hopefully with the right loom it will fire up.. now just need to find one!

I think I must have a loom from a dizzy engine.. I have another loom coming so fingers crossed that will sort it :) Thanks for all your help I appreciate it.

Id put money on it that youve got a loom from a dizzy c14se.

C16's dont have a plug like that, looks like thats the ignition module/amp plug or something, and the one youve got on the dispak is the dizzy plug, or vice versa.
