Well some of you will remember my ranting thread about my ex flat mate etc

well today i have a little letter come in saying he has missed a payment on his car for insurance, so i decided to ring them up and kindly explain that they dont live here and i dont know who this person is. The lady on the other end said ok i will contact them, then i say o that is no use as well as it is my number.

She says o dear i will have to cancel there policy as it incorrect data etc.

So now its just a awaiting game before the police find him lol

(how many police cars are fitted with that reading plate hardware for insurance and mot etc?)

If you missed out on my rant earlyer in the months basicly i helped him out of some poo poo, put my family under stain and he decided to turn around and slap it all back in my face and he owes me money.

so..

What comes around goes around

that is all :)

The only downside to this is if he hits someone whilst not insured.

i understand, but its a bit weird.

a car with an undeclared engine conversion is insured, but youre f*cked if they find out.
that gets loads of negative comments, even a postban.

this is a different situation, i understand why he did it, i would have done the same thing, but it's just weird that there isnt any bad comments about the fact that there is now someone out there driving without insurence.

dont get me wrong, i agree with the TS about the whole situation, but imo this is more dangerous than an undeclared conversion.

we all understand where your coming from, thats why i commented on it being a good job he told us all the story about a month ago, this case is definately what goes around comes around, he's never going to get any money back thats owed, so may aswell get some revenge ;)

Best thing to do would be to report them for driving uninsured in case something does happen, you get the result your after and nobody is out of pocket.

i see what your trying to see, but my point is even if i didnt cancel his insurance if/when he had a crash and the insurance company found out that he didnt live with me anymore giving false address etc. Then the company would pull the plug and not insure him.

So basicly all i have done is open him up to mr plod ;)

Mayhem, undeclared engine conversions are where the owner has knowingly commited fraud with the intention of cheap insurance, tax etc. This is different as Stu said, all Puss Puss has done is inform the insurance company the guy has incorrect info on his policy - which is the right thing to do.

TBH even if the guy had the policy with the wrong details on it, it probably wouldn't be honoured in the event of a claim - an invalid policy is no different to having no policy. The only good thing is he will pop up on ANPR as no insurance and so get nabbed/taken off the road/situation corrected quicker.

If you've had a letter regarding his insurance then wouldn't his reg be on the top of that letter? ;)
