Hi. Does anyone know where I can buy/get a custom redtop engine loom made? Thanks.

why do you want a custom one?

why do you want a custom one?

Because I would like to be able to mount my ECU on the passenger side foot-well tray. So my loom needs to be longer.

Im sure there are places that will do it, wont be cheap in the slightest though. Probably talking £300/£400 to make it from scratch.

Whats wrong with putting it in the same place everyone else does?

Just extending the wires would make more sense than forking out for a brand new loom to be made. The most sensible option would be to put it where they normally go in Nova's....on the under dash shelf lol

paint the ecu black so you cant see it and whang it on the shelf.

Thanks Adam for the advice. With the amount of wires that go to the ecu plug cutting it of and extending it is not something I want to do. My ecu is already mounted on the inside of the car under the battery tray. In my opinion this is a better place for it instead of putting in on the drivers foot-well shelf. I have my reasons though for not wanting to keep in where it is.

The hardest bit would be finding all the correct plugs, You could use the old plugs/pins and just replace all the wires, but its a hell of a lot of effort, thus a lot of money.

Extending it isnt as bad as it sounds, Do one wire at a time of course, In my opinion its something that isnt a massive issue, but then im confidant with wiring lol.

As long as you know the lengh the wires need to be, it would be easy to solder and heat shrink each wire one by one, and still making sure it works.

Search google, I've seen people at car shows that will make looms. Search under kit car etc... :)
