Not even if they are the same diameter?. For som reason i canot get the brakes at the front to pull much effort.(i have had a good mechanic doin it). He says the piston seems to be realy far out of the caliper he sugested it?

Fit 256mm stuff, the braking will be 100million times better dude.

Could it possibly be you have solid discs on GTE/GSI vented type calipers? ie the wrong type of disk?

That would make the caliper piston travel further to make contact as the disk would be thinner than it should be.

256mm set up yes used vented discs. It still has a small piston too so you keep a great pedal.

They are found on all 2lt cav/Cally/ Astras.

you also need to get the rear brakes cleaned, the movey bits copper greased, and it all readjusted.

And found on later 1.8 cavaliers. The reason the vented discs won't fit is not due to diameter, but disc thickness, as vented discs are so much thicker.

Novas have never been known for having good brakes. Even the GTE I had 6 years ago had crap brakes.

they can have very good brakes, but lack of maintenance, knackered dampers & really wide tyres on odd cambers all contribute to rubbish braking
