Crazy indicator hazard wiper motor

Iv currently xe'd my mk1 nova gte and now that it's about to have it's first m.o.t since 10years ago it decides to mess me around with this crazy indicator hazard wiper motor trick! Get your head round this...
...put any indicator on and they don't work, press hazard switch and the hazards don't work but with the hazard switch on and the indicator on, the indicator works but also does the rear wiper motor!
Any suggestions to what could be going on would be great!

Probably the earth strap that connects to your gearbox is knackered. Try a new one if it's connected okay.

Edit: Have you changed your speedo at all say to a digi dash?

I'll try that mate thanks! And could it be anything to do with indicator relay?
Only the relay wudnt cause the wiper motor to work on the indicators wud it! mmmm I'm off to bed I'll post my progress here with the earth strap 2moro nite!
