Satin black is what you want, matt actually looks grey, doesnt shine in the slightest & will hold on to all the mud n crap that comes anywhere near it. It wont wash off either.

looks poo imo
That nova looks rather exhausted.
Matt black works imo, but not as a cheap we'll do it matt black cos we won't need to spend more than 5 minutes prepping it and no one will notice if theres massive runs in it thing.

Looks good because it's a nice paint job, it's a bit different and looks cool if done right, although it does look best on something that is blatantly obviously not just been rattle canned in a shed, like the lambo.
edited because my pic was funking huge :p

I always think that people who spray their cars matt black can't afford a proper paintjob :wtf:
Looks cheap and crap imo.

haha yes your right bailey that was my nova in the first picture, bought it from some bodge job boys... it looked good from a distance but they had actually rattle canned it!! It needed some bright orange wheels on it!
I think matt looks good when done professionally, to a high standard, on the right car. The problem is, its often done as a quick DIY job on sheds, so 95% of the time looks rubbish.
so whats the difference between mat and satin
Satin has a slight sheen to it. The black accents on my car are satin:

I had a satin black Mk4 Cortina shortly after I passed my test (years ago). It was brilliant, keep a couple of cans and filler in the boot. Get a knock, repair it straight away!! It was never gonna be a show car.
Never worried about parking dings or anything!! Not like now when I seem to be paranoid about my new fresh paint.
I reckon it can be a great look on a motor.:thumb:
thanks lads.and satin cant be chalked on ?

No but you can wipe fanny-batter off it easily. lol
I just find Matt actually appears grey in most instances because it is so dull it doesnt reflect any clour at all. Depending how far out you hold the paint nozzle/can, you can get satin to appear dryer or 'matter' than it should do anyway.

Can do that with gloss too, trust me! lol
