Not really that bothered but hey, lets have a good old rant lol.

Went to blackpool and left evo at home to attend a civic/clio meet. came back around half8ish

Took the steeringwheel off the old evo and went inside to chill with the mrs, About half 9ish lauren said she was off home as she was working early.

I wave bye bye from the window and shes outside messing with somthing, saying there some weird **** on my car.

I was like, eh... so went out had a look and saw paintstripper... ummmm looked at evo Oh yes baby, they have gone around the evo. **** sake... so took it asap for a wash upto the garage. Now i have no dinner money for tomorrow grrr.

had a quick look and its down to the metal, this is some awesome stuff tbh well impressed with the paint stripping goodness.

Once back home, I had a look up the street. Same thing on about 15 cars around the estate. Worse hit was my evo, and three other 59 plate cars the rest are bloody bad and most annoyingly lauren bonnet has a 6" line of bare metal. I mean come on this is a M reg clio FFS its going to cost me loads to sort this out. Pmsl.

****ing Bellends... Loads of other people are well pissed off but what can you do against the slient assasins?

Its a bit of a ghetto mate, but everybody know everybody etc. i've lived here years and had loads and loads of modified cars and never had any problems like this ever.

Its not like it was just my car, which i first thought as that would just mean it was a first class ****bag.

That's proper shi!t lad, lucky you're painting it anyway. Car damage/theft/dodgy claims are on the up here..bunch of c0cks all over. Dirty little foreskins don't like anyone havin anything.

Pics of damage?

scum, why do they think it is necessary to cause soo much damage,
i don't think i could paint stripper a car ever, let alone an evo
even if i hated the owner !

L33 LEG
21-03-10, 11:22 PM
Least it saves you stripping the paint yourself now ready for the respray

I've had it done on one of my old cars, you are taking it like you should be doing. No point crying about it, luckily you are a sprayer and wanted a new paintjob anyway so at least it wont cost you anything.

However i would be really worried about leaving it there again, especially after its looking freshly sprayed. Is there nothing you can do about secruity? No garages nearby or anything?

Rexy
21-03-10, 11:23 PM
well, its not just the evo... its loads of other cars as well. one street cars on both sides and they have done all round each car.

They have used a lot of this stuff, whatever it is. It smells like somthing you get from a hospital or beauty product lol not paint stripped.

AlexW
21-03-10, 11:25 PM
That sucks, guess it could of been worse though somehow lol

I had my SR keyed, that was the whole street too. At least your a painter and can do it yourself.

Rexy
21-03-10, 11:26 PM
Lee, thats the biggest bit im bothered about mate. A garage is going to be a right pain in the ****.

I think im going to move in with mrs rexy and get a place with secure parking or at least a garage.

from what ive been told, they have done the same down another Main road a few weeks back. No idea if they are conneccted or not.

One lucky thing is that i sold my carbon fibre spolier blade the day before :D

Go canvassing your neighbours mate while ya can, offer a cheap deal to them due to circumstances and get yourself an extra bit of dollar:thumb:

Even if you disliked someone and paint strippered the car to piss them off, its the action of a coward, youre not man enough to have out your problems with them so you pick on an innanimate object rather than the person themselves, what a set of heroes:roll:

If you are wanting to keep nice cars and not having to worry then moving away maybe a good idea. Your house is on the main road and it only takes a jealous passer by to do something to it. It's just one of those **** situations but it really needs sorting before it really does get to you :(

the stuff they put on is called nitromorse or some think. it mint for geting thing down to bear metal as you have said. a lad at work got it done to his 2 car's 4 times in 6 month. the only other bad thing is any one can go and get it from b&q so any one cud of done it.

22-03-10, 03:33 PM
Next time you park it there, stick a note on the windscreen saying "to the fcukwits who paint stripped my car, thanks for saving me a job. Kisses, Rexy the Painter" lol

Go canvassing your neighbours mate while ya can, offer a cheap deal to them due to circumstances and get yourself an extra bit of dollar:thumb:
I'd be careful about that, as it could look dodgy on you. Hmm, all our cars got paint stripper on them, and here's a guy who's offering to repaint them all "at a good price". Smells duff to me; sure yours got done too, but as said if you're a painter is not big deal for you to give the evo a fresh lick of paint.

Angus Closier
22-03-10, 06:19 PM

I bet you feel gitted a little bit deep down Gaz, find the scumbags who did it and do what you do to me at every single meet...

This hasn't saved him a job it's a fuk1n sh1t job doing a car with paint-striper/brake fluid.

Easy way is just strip the whole panel!

We did a brake fluid job at work the other week, on a green Picasso, every panel had brake fluid on it, we jsut buzzed the bare metal and the paint surrounding it, till it got a smooth finish, them primered it, and gave it a good few coats

Still a pain in the **** though, not helpfull :(

lee-loon
22-03-10, 08:21 PM
We always have them in,best one I did was a silver Renault traffic van every panel even the roof and wheels!

Rexy
22-03-10, 08:22 PM
Yeah, its made the job a little bit harder now but nothing im too arsed about.

I cba putting up pics tbh, I'm not really gutted at all. Im more pissed off that i cannot for the life of me think of a decent colour combo to paint the ****ing thing in. My god its doing my chuffin head in.

Gone off orange and grey now then? White+coloured bits in the same way you were planning grey/orange works quite well imo, and pretty much anything goes with white so take your pick on the accent colour, I was gonna go for white and red on my Mk2 before I got offered the Mk1 shell.

Rexy
22-03-10, 08:26 PM
I've done the aged old "looked into it too much" and now i cannot make my mind up.

Focus RS green and black is now on the cards, as i opened up the 2009 varients and it really caught my eye.

Black with Really bright green bits

MK999
22-03-10, 08:30 PM
Sounds alright actually, I'd go for a more bold green than the RS colour myself though, always looks washed out/faded to me. Hard to find colour codes for green though, not a popular colour really.

Rexy
22-03-10, 08:33 PM
they do the VW rocco in a slightly darker metalic green, which is nice but i prefer the RS colour.

Its lovley on a map, but on an evo 5 :S im not 100%

Its one of those reap or weap kinda situations.

bazil
22-03-10, 08:34 PM
ive always had a soft spot for these, but i suppose its been done already.

MK999

Looks very similar to RS I think in the actual pictures, but it did turn up this on the google search:
http://www.motorward.com/wp-content/pictures/2009/06/JE-DESIGN-Volkswagen-Scirocco-20-TDI-2.jpg
Looks like a photoshop or something to me, but the green is quite nice imo.

Rexy
22-03-10, 08:37 PM
yeah there is a difference mate, got both the colours on the lesonal scheme here in front of me. Its loads darker and not as pearlescent

MK999
22-03-10, 08:42 PM
Ah yeah found a better picture that shows it up better, ones on google images are mostly of a shoot somewhere bloody sunny with the car at just the right angle to catch it so it looks like the focus RS green with the light on it. Looks better imo, I assume the green is gonna be the accent and the black the main colour btw? I'd still be erring towards a more bold green, it's something that wouldn't really work on a whole car though, so hard to find an example lol

If you're not sure about the green, red and black is always a nice combo too :thumb:

Rexy
22-03-10, 08:48 PM
Green sides bonnet, black roof, spolier top and wheels.

MK999
22-03-10, 08:51 PM

MK999
22-03-10, 08:55 PM
That looks a lot better than I imagined actually, go for it, but in the rocco green :d

Rexy
22-03-10, 08:57 PM
Bazil, You can mate but if it will stick and stay is another problem you will have. Etch primer eats into the metal to give a gripper for the primer, the primer then does the same and so on etc.

You could do it, but i doubt it would last more than 6 months.

Rexy if you remember talking about the cost of clear coat we use well 1 gallon of Spies Hecker clear coat is £360 and £160 for 2.5ltr of activator.

Not alot is it?

Rexy
22-03-10, 09:52 PM
nah its not too bad In the grand scheme of things, that 5l will make at least three times its worth.
