fault codes on an xe

Right, ive got my managment light to flash, is there any info to what these codes mean? ive looked in the articles but didnt find a how to, how do i know when the code starts and stops, the light comes on and goes out for a coupld of seconds, then flashes twice, then a pause, then twice again, then once and then a pause etc im getting in a muddle lol anyone help?

Was it the brown/yellow wire to earth?

Without it running you should get codes 12 (test cycle) and 31 (no rpm signal) normally + any faults.

Yeah i just got those two codes started it up for 30 seconds and the 31 went away, still no closer to finding whats causing it to miss but at least i now know its not a plug ive left off or something stupid, i had it running with the workshop door shut for 30 seconds and the ammount of fuel smoke out the back was unreal so i hope a CTS fixes it lol
