Peeps,

Need to see (with pics) what washer jet is fitted as standard to the GSi's so that the spoiler can be fitted and not fouled like it would be non-spoiler models.

So far in the 8 years I've been with Novaload/PNG I've never seen what jet is fitted or what it looks like lol

is it a genuine spoiler, no a FG?

Nova_Tek

Bought it brand new many years ago primered ready to paint. AFAIK it's OEM, it's deffo not fibre glass.

should have a small notch out of it where the washer recesses into

Easiest way to tell if it's gen is if it takes twenty men or more to pick it up lol

If no notch, make one.

It will have the notch in, but it still needs a different washer jet. Question has been posted on here a couple of times before, and everytime its the same answer, you need a smaller (Nova GSi) washer jet.

Tek have you tried vauxhall?

It has a notch in the centre to clear the jet and it's not light. Is there a difference bewteen MK1 and MK2 rear washer jets?

Na mate no just yet but I will. I was just interested to see what it looked like as I knew it was something a tad smaller then the non-spoiler models. Also me having a look means that I can make sure Vauxhall don't get confused and order me a wrong one (which can happen)

im sure some have a larger washer jet when not fitted with a spoiler so that may need changing too

Best I could do with the spoiler fitted, not taking it off as its got 3M tape on it as well as the screws, factory style :)

And close up with the brightness messed with so you can see the jet

they are shorter not by much though you have to get them side by side to see the differance pal

Nova_Tek
19-03-10, 04:45 PM
Well it's that little difference that allows the spoiler to fit. Also the shpae is different with the non-spoiler jet being like an egg cut in half.

Correct.

There used to be a guy on eBay who sold genuine GM GSi rear washer jets for people creating GSi reps. They were about £2 or soemthing like that.

cheers, i did however forget to measure the height, i shall do that tomorrow as i'll probably be playing at novas again.

Nova_Tek

If you could mate. I'll then go measure the height on mine. If it turns out to be shorter (which it should be) then all good.

Early Nova bootlids had bigger jets for some reason, had to change mine on 2 different early bootlids for both a wrap around spoiler anf a gsi spoiler

bazil

right some more info for you, the height of the washer is 18mm the hole is for it to fit is 12mm and the reason your spoiler hits it is because the GSI tailgates hole is in a different place to a standard tailgate,

oops pressed the button and i wasnt finnished lol, that first pic is a standard 1.2 bootlid that has has been drilled for a GSI spoiler and it fouled the standard washer, this pic is from my GSI tailgate, the measurements is taken from the swedge line above the washer, not mega accurate but you can clearly see there is a difference in measurement:thumb:

http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/yy181/Bazil_2468/2b037.jpg

Nova_Tek
21-03-10, 06:12 PM
When I placed the GSi spoiler over the boot lid the spoier sat in the correct place but the pov spec jet wouldn't aloow it to sitt flat on the boot lid.

Anyway thanks for the pic and numbers. I will go check it out asap.

no i dont need it pal

Better late than never,

Went and measured the standard Nova rear washer jet.
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/8052/30032010443.jpg

I measured the width and its approx 28mm wide at the base.

So compared to 18mm height on the spoiler models, there is quite a difference.

no i dont need it pal

How much you want for it mate?
