Check batteries?

Well this was the problem even though the battery indicator was perfect and when swapped with the mouse batteries there was no change and the mouse works fine.

this reminds me of the man who rang the helpline cos his screen went blank, they asked for his serial number, he couldn't see it cos the lights were off, because of a power cut

Its sorted now thanks mate, main reason i was struggling was i dont have the wirless dongles as everything on my PC is built in (which seemed good idea at the time but pain in the forking **** when things play up).
