MSN is quite new to me, I installed it on my new PC the other day. I had it for a while before but it slowed that computer down too much.
I never used it a great deal though & still wonder what all the fuss is about.
Fill me in & how do people find me without adding my msn/email addy in the text here??
noob lol

Only program i've had in the past which slowed my pc down and well and truely messed it up was limewire.
some folks on here have the little person icon near the rep button... you can use that to add them to MSN. or you need to supply your email (you could do it via the msn field in your profile.)

He didn't say what the computer was specced like, could have been a pentium 1 or something lol
Rest of it covered here pretty much, apart from the correct reply to "Omg is this you! <dodgy link>" or similar, with dodgy links, being; "haha, mug, have fun cleaning that out" :thumb: lol
its just a nice easy quick chat.
webcam fun with girls. (previous experiances)
and just free easy chat really.
Free chat to anyone in the world, bonus. I had to explain to Hayley how/why it was free for her to yak to her mum in France on it, she thought it would cost more on her internet bill as it was going to France lol
Plus you get all the webcam and VOIP stuff as well. I never understood why people made such a fuss when Skype came out, as MSN could do everything +more than Skype ever could/can.
As said, people need your associated email address to add you. When they do. you get a box pop up saying "xyz person has added you", and you have the option to accept or refuse/block them. Its also easy to remove and block people once you've added them, so no worries about being stalked on there.
[edit] MSN can be a resources hog sometimes, but I've found thats mainly down to the adverts on the main window for some reason grabbing CPU time. Close the main window (or send it to the taskbar) and things work fast again
glad im not the only one who doesnt get the big hoohar about skype. now that is a **** programme that will slow your puter

The old computer was prolly a pentium1, just a 5-6yr old low spec Dell.
Upon installing the MSN programme it instantly took 4-5mins of loading before the pc was capable of anything, let alone launching t'internet.
I've just sorted a new hotmail addy with a more suitable name etc, switching my contact details etc & obv jumping on the MSN wagon. Does everyone just join everyones network?
I'll put my details in my profile for anyone that wants to add me then, likewise you might get me adding you. It's like FB all over again.

5-6 year old low spec dell, definitely pentium era and single core, should have been alright though, probably hard drive was fragged to buggery, still onwards and upwards, just upgraded myself, for solid modelling though, CPU shows 0-5% usage running windows 7 aero  lol
The networks thing is generally ignored unless you're 12 from what I've seen, and before anyone says it, sisters, not grooming lol

I've recently put the new version of skype on the gf's mac book and it runs fine. No probs. Useful for conference calls for planning world domination on Tribal Wars too.
Not sure if you guys can get Adium on PC but it basically combines all your little chat progs into one... so you can log into yahoo, msn, AIM etc under one log in.

Could be a wrong address then because he's been offline on mine too lol
I use MSN to chat to my brother in NZ and rest of family in uk on voice call, sometimes line gets disturbed if downloading loads of stuff at same time but 99% of the time is perfect.

Most of the time these days I choose "appear offline" because I cba to talk to anyone.
Conversations with Limp usually take a few days as we can never tell if either of us is actually online lol
