View Full Version : Anyone want to drive my nova to PVS??

MattBrown

As people I see regualr are aware, i wont be able to insure my 2l nova in time for pvs, due to a "Court summons"

However, I will put the juice in, and provide food there and back if someone with trade insurance, or the relevent cover to drive a heavily modded car would drive it for me

Only way Its getting there, aside from towing it, but don't fancy leaving a trailer with 50,000 chavs in a field!

Any help guys?

Why bother taking it there if you can't drive it ?

Want to take it!

Cooltiger had his driven for him last year!

Its my target to try and get it finishedish for pvs:)

Agreed with Edd.

If I have a towbar fitted by then I might offer to tow it though. The trailers were OK at PVS08 but I didn't go to PVS09.

The problem is my car trailer isnt mine, its my dads mates!

He isnt bothered about it etc, but I couldn't break it to him that the trailer thats made him thousands over the years is nicked lol

Dan, Drive mine:)

No! lol.

My car is comfortable and no offense but I don't fancy driving 300 miles in a car built by a youth I don't know - if its not 100% road legal it would be me that got penalised and I don't think my breakdown cover covers other cars.

My point being that I'll be driving my own car if I go to PVS anyway. Provided I've got round to fitting a towbar and electrics by then its no real hassle to stick a trailer on the back, providing that the MAM of the trailer is less than 1435kg and that the trailer isnt overweight when loaded, and is of course safe&legal :).

You have a good point, we could get 20 miles and it die lol

That would be brilliant!

Ill pay your fuel there and back matey:thumb:

Erm, its a black trailer, and we have had a van on it, about all I know, but I doubt that just a nova will be overloaded!

A-frame FTW.

Not if he can't insure it, which means he can't tax it, at least not without signing it over to someone else on a v5 or finding an insurance company that will believe that insuring his dad/friend/relative etc on his car is all above board lol

See what happens closer to the time - money is tight at the moment. The plate on the trailer is important aswell because I only have a class B license, so in my car the MAM for the trailer can be no more than 1435KG, even if it actually weighs a lot less.

Just for the info of those that may be considering it, I'd rather know whether it was legal or grey before I did it myself :p

No point doing it IMO.

Why rush to build it just to say I took my nova to pvs10 ?

Might aswell take your time building it so it all together properly and drive it yourself next year.

Why in any way is it illegal?

If she is having it/driving it, then it will all be 100% legal, as its a 2.0 on book etc, just waiting for it to come back lol

Then it will all be insured legit?

So how does it sound illegal?

bahahahaha a 2L nova as a first car lollollollol

you would be better off paying a recovery company to take it there and back, would be a hell of alot cheaper than the insurance

No my mate owns a garage so insured on anything under £350,000 with that policy :) and if driving distance we put the car on the policy passificly :) I'm at his now working on my nova, I give him hand of evening hence why i can be insured, just need to let him know and make sure it's ok first ;)
